Arzachena

Arzachena is the perfect image of a modern Sardinia which has become famous for its sky-coloured sea and cheerful vitality while preserving its old charm that lives through the island’s many traditions. The Albucciu Nuraghe (built upon a granitic massif), the Malchittu Temple, the Giant’s Grave in Li Lolghi, the burial grounds in Li Muri and the Giant’s Grave in Coddu Vecchju are all standing in a kind of ancient case of precious treasures.

Arzachena was once a quiet village of lonely shepherds, a slow-moving hideaway in the mountains. Today it is a dynamic and modern town that is as varying and unpredictable as the island that houses it, crouched between the granite and the sea.

As you travel the twisted roads of Arzachena, you will come upon distinctive little towns. The first is Canniggione, a cheerful fishing village that drowses upon intensely blue waters, surrounded by the green Mediterranean brush embellishing this lush land.
