Itineray
It can be reached by ferry boats which leave from Cala Gonone, Santa Maria Navarrese, Arbatax, port otherwise with one’s own boat or rented craft. There’s also a hiking path for experts. We recommend to ask the help of the local guides because of the difficult passages on rock.
Description
Cala Biriola is characterized by small pinkish pebbles. The sea is unique in its genre, transparent and very limpid, the sea-bottom is mixed in content and the water is high. So it is recommended for snorkelling and diving enthusiasts. On the southern part of the beach you can admire an arc excavated in the rock due to the erosion of it by the sea. Behind the beach the very steep rock walls are covered with Mediterranean maquis and a thick lentisk forest of a hundred years old. South of Cala Biriola there’s Grotta del Fico famous for the fact that the Monk seal used live there.
