Itineray
From Villasimius take the road towards the touristic harbour and Capo Carbonara. Go past the harbour and the left fork to Porto Giunco. Continue straight on, and about 1.5 km after the fork to the harbour, you will arrive at the end of the asphalted road. From there, take the dirt road on the left, which goes down through the promontory to the car park behind the beach.
Description
This beach of Cava Usai was known in the past as Sa Cava Manna, and is a small cove surmounted by the promontory of Capo Carbonara. It is characterized by white sand mixed with pebbles , and by a crystalline light blue sea. It has shallow waters, and it is therefore ideal for families with children. Since the mid-19th century, the beach has been used for granite extraction activities. As a matter of fact, you can still see the ruins of a small harbour used for the transport of granite, and some buildings used for lodging. The landscape brings together many different colours which range from the light blue of the sea to the green of the Mediterranean maquis covering the promontory.
Car park.
