From Cagliari take the SS 195 until you get to Pula. When you arrive in Pula, take via Nora in the direction of the archaeological site. After about 3 km you will arrive at the Punic-Roman city of Nora.
Description
The city was founded by the Phoenicians between the 7th and the 8th century B.C. Lately Nora increased its importance, reaching a high level of prosperity and becoming one of the most important cities of the southern coast of Sardinia. The Roman domination began in 238 B.C. The majority of the structures that can be visited today – i.e. the theatre, the temples and the mosaics – which emerged during the 1950s excavations, date back to the imperial times. Thanks to its strategic position, Nora became a very important city.
