After its inauguration at the historic Teatro Cavallera, AMÍME has landed on the streets of Carloforte: until September 28, the 25 photographic diptychs by artist Maurizio Pighizzini are on display in the Paìze to fund and raise awareness for the protection of the sea and beaches of the Island of San Pietro.
Paris, 1 July 2024 – After the great success of the exhibition at the historic Teatro Cavallera, AMÍME (“look at me” in the Tabarchino dialect) is the artistic project that for the first time brings contemporary photography to the streets of Carloforte.

An exclusive journey of 25 diptych panels, curated by the artist Maurizio Pighizzini and produced by Federico Gualdi,
open to visitors all summer long.

An art initiative for the local area: AMÍME, funded and strongly supported by the Municipality of Carloforte – thanks to the work of the entire municipal council – aims to fund civic education projects and raise awareness of the protection of the sea and beaches of the Island of San Pietro, through the sale of photographic diptychs.

A project born from a sincere friendship between the photographer (the artist Maurizio Pighizzini), and the executive producer (Federico Gualdi), from their common vision and from the need to reciprocate their love for the Island of San Pietro through the passion for
photography. Little by little, this artistic project is taking shape, tied to a place that remains authentic, to its genuine and sincere people, and to the warm welcome they receive every year.

The exhibition is not only a summary of the emotions that Carloforte has given the two for years, but also has a noble purpose: to do something concrete to safeguard the place, to protect and safeguard the island as it has continued to do for them for many years.
The 25 diptychs still available for sale—numbered in a limited edition of 10 pieces each, signed by the artist, and provided with a certificate of authenticity, can be viewed on the website www.amime.it and purchased by writing to info@amime.it—and can be admired until September 28th on the streets of Carloforte, through an exclusive tour.

At the Carloforte info point, you can pick up the official map for free and follow the numbered route to discover the Paìze in its most hidden and evocative spots.
AMÍME is a photographic project about Carloforte and the Island of San Pietro, which recounts the visual completeness of this magical island through a series of photographic diptychs: a diptych, two "parts," two photographs that, placed side by side, form a single work. Two images that reflect and complement each other: the sea and the reflection of the land, the island's inhabitants and the tourists who visit, the water and the sand, the waves and the wind.
Man and woman. A sometimes contrasting duality, the soul of the Island of San Pietro: nature, constant, eternal, and solid in its passing.
of the years, and that of the human beings who inhabit and nurture it, ever-changing and evolving. The diptychs are interdependent: perhaps one cannot exist without the other. The exhibition seeks to depict this splendid island world through images, fluidly and sincerely, at times with a distorted, pop-culture reportage.
