In May, Sassari, the 'good living room' of northern Sardinia, becomes the center of island traditions with a procession of three thousand traditional costumes and hundreds of knights and amazons.
The atmosphere is unique and inimitable.
The parade begins in the morning along a two-kilometer route through the streets of Sassari's historic center, centering in the city's central square.
Sixty-five folk groups and nearly thirty horsemen from all over Sardinia parade on foot and on traccas, ox-drawn carts decorated with flowers, all wearing the traditional dress of their respective places of origin.
Traditional Sardinian costumes are the emblem of the regional culture and textile and goldsmith art.
Adorned with gold and silver filigree embroidery and jewelry, they represent the most opulent garment, worn on important occasions. Following the folkloristic representation of each town is an impressive procession of over three hundred knights.

The afternoon is dedicated to the pariglie, where the bravest riders perform spectacular acrobatics on racing horses. In the evening, traditional songs and dances are performed, accompanied by the music of launeddas, canti a tenores, and accordions. In short, if you want to experience and hear the culture of a people, don't miss this extraordinary event.
