"Sergio Atzeni Illustrated" is the title of the exhibition running until May 3rd at the Cornetto Acustico cultural association in Cagliari. Curated by Giorgio Pellegrini, a former professor of Contemporary Art History, this exhibition pays tribute to the late Cagliari-born writer, thirty years after his passing.
For the occasion, visitors will be able to admire a series of refined drawings in black ink on white cardstock, hand-drawn by Pellegrini himself for Atzeni's first book, "Araji Dimoniu." "Powerful expressiveness, carnal concreteness that is never conceptual, and vivid, pulsating contrasts" are the words used by art critic Simone Cireddu to underscore the expressive intensity of the artistic encounter between Atzeni and Pellegrini.

In a particularly meaningful dedication, Pellegrini writes: "Dear Sergio, it's been thirty years since you left us, without saying goodbye. This small exhibition is to remind you of our friendship and that unforgettable collaboration on your first book. I hope you enjoy it. With lasting affection, Giorgio." The works reflect the essence of the worlds evoked by Atzeni and highlight the profound artistic and human bond that united the two Sardinian intellectuals. Free admission, Wednesday to Saturday, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
