Originally from Assemini, famous Sardinian forge of important potters and ceramists, Giuliana Collu takes her first steps in the realm of clay to be molded in the laboratory of her uncles, skilled potters. His passion grows and begins to improve, applying himself with dedication and determination, in a path of growth in the world of ceramics.
The professional training leads her to attend various regional ceramic courses, then she obtains the qualification of ceramist and continues her apprenticeship at local laboratories. Further on, she attended various specialization courses of the Tuscan school, to optimize her knowledge on the applications of ceramic glazes and attended experimental archeology laboratories, which enrich her and complete her initial path.
Giuliana Collu’s works are made entirely by hand, made with different clays and glazes of various colors. The shapes, symbols and decorations are freely inspired by Sardinian protohistoric periods, but over the years, the sources of inspiration and the knowledge of artists from different cultures have generated works with a strong international connotation. He has received and constantly receives various prizes and awards, his works are present in prestigious museums, exhibitions, shops and catalogs.
