Description
The Grotte di Nettuno (Neptune Caves) are the most beautiful in the Mediterranean basin. They are located on the western side of the Capo di Caccia promontory and they are approximately 2,5 km wide. Their incredible beauty and variety of caves made them an sought-after tourist destination. During the visit, you will go from the vestibule, where you can admire the “holy water stoup” which is a stalagmite with cavities where the unsalted water stagnates, to the Tribuna della Musica (The Music Tribune) which opens onto the Lago Lamarmora (the Lamarmora Lake), one of the largest salt lakes In Europe. There are a number of rooms, galleries, small limpid lakes and deep wells.
