Itineray
From the harbour of Carloforte take the coast road which runs along the south-western coastline of the island and then goes up westward until it reaches La Caletta. Go past the salt pans located just outside the town, go on for about 5 km and you will find on the left a signpost to the beach La Bobba, written upon a large rock positioned on the side of the road. Park the auto in an unpaved car park and continue on foot along an easy dirt path leading to the beach.
Description
La Bobba boasts fine white sand and a crystalline sea of colours ranging from light blue to green. Its shallow waters and the sandy seabed are suitable for families with children. It is a corner of paradise characterized by an incredible chromatic contrast between the light blue waters and the green maquis which covers the surrounding cliffs of a dark grey colour. The name La Bobba derives from an old usage of the fishermen, who used to come to this enchanting place to eat a typical dish containing broad beans called in the local dialect “bobba”.
