If you are leaving from Palau take the SP 123 and follow the signs for Santa Teresa di Gallura. Shortly after leaving the town take Via La Sciumara on the right which continues north-east and goes back to the town. After more or less 600 metres on the left there’s the turn-off for La Sciumara beach. You will arrive to a parking lot and from there continue on an easy path that takes to the beach. If you are leaving from Santa Teresa di Gallura take the SS 133bis for Palau. After travelling c.17 km turn left for Palau on the SS 133. Before entering Palau turn left for Via La Sciumara. After more or less 600 metres there’s the turn-off on the left for La Sciumara beach.

Description

This beach is characterized by golden medium-sized grains of sand. The sea is transparent and has hues that range from emerald green to deep azure. The water is shallow and the sea-bottom is sandy and perfect for families with children. The name La Sciumara, which in the local dialect means river mouth, owes its name to a small stream mouth on the beach. The landscape presents a strong chromatic contrast between the vegetation and the colours of the sea. In front of the beach you can admire La Maddalena archipelago islands.
