It can be reached by one’s own boat or rented craft. If you are leaving by car from Baunei take the SS 125 south towards Lotzorai and Tortolì. More or less 4 km outside Baunei on the left there’s an asphalted panoramic winding road that goes down to Pedra Longa where it ends with a parking area. If you are on foot you will arrive to it taking a path which starts from the Santa Maria Navarrese tower, in the homonymous locality, and arrives to Pedra Longa with an hour walk.
Description
Along this stretch of coast nature is wild and uncontaminated and dominated by the famous pinnacle of Pedra Longa. This limestone spur, called Agugliastra, is more or less 128 metres high and is a true natural monument. It can also be considered as one of the final spurs that drop straight down to the sea of the southern edge of the Baunei Supramonte. In fact the gigantic monolith of Pedra Longa is part of the limestone tableland of Baunei which covers a vast territory along the stretch that starts from the Santa Maria Navarrese fraction and arrives north to Codula di Luna. The sea is incredibly azure, the sea-bottom is fascinating and abounding in fish. The shore consists in a cliff.
