Piermario Mureddu is a skilled leather craftsman in all its many forms. His shop is located in the historic centre of Tempio Pausania, surrounded by typical granite houses, evocative streets where you can breathe a serene air and that silence typical of the countryside. Nearby is the characteristic “Faber” square dedicated to the poet and songwriter Fabrizio de André who wanted to move here and enjoy these places with his family.
Since he was a child, Piermario attended his uncle’s shoe shop and began his apprenticeship, giving life to his own career. With experience he has refined a personal and distinctive selection of objects related to everyday life and tradition such as belts, knife covers, bags like “Sa Tasca” (or “Taschedda” depending on the size: double shoulder bag that the shepherds carried with them containing their own food.).
This is complemented by its own peculiarity in creating wonderful leather and leather masks that he creates in a superfine way with its personalization’s influenced by the figures of the Carnival Tempiese (Giorgio, mythical king, dating back to a pre-Roman era, is the predominant figure of the tempiese carnival, divinity that is sacrificed for good luck.). The masks are modelled entirely by hand on wooden casts he built and adorned with various fabrics that recall the traditional Sardinian costumes.
We invite you to get to know this refined craftsman through his creations.
