Itineray
From Villasimius, shortly before arriving at Simius beach, turn left onto the coastal road SP 18 direction Costa Rei. After about 2 km, following the signposts to the hotel L’Oleandro, turn left onto a dirt road which runs underneath the provincial road and continues right towards the beach.
Description
This small beach is set in an enchanting natural backdrop, and is a part of the Marine protected area of Villasimius. The Mediterranean maquis which embraces it, a coarse-grained white sand and scattered rocks, make it a small paradise. Its turquoise sea is crystalline and shallow. In the past, the beach was used for granite extraction, material of which the surrounding rocks are made up. Due to the wind and sea erosion, these rocks are nowadays characterized by particular shapes stimulating one’s imagination. The name Molentis, which means donkey in Sardinian language, derives from the use of this animal in the granite mining activities.
Refreshment stand, scuba-diving activities, pedal boats rental.
