Itineray
From the harbour of Carloforte take the coast road which runs along the south-western coastline of the island and then goes up westward until it reaches La Caletta. Go past the salt pans located just outside the town, and after about 3.5 km you will see on the left the signpost to the beach of Punta Nera, written upon a large rock positioned on the side of the road. Park the auto in an unpaved car park and continue on foot along an easy path leading to the beach.
Description
This beach boasts fine white sand and crystalline waters of a light blue colour. The shallow depths and the sandy seabed are suitable for families with children. The beach is divided into two by a small stream which, during the rainy season, flows into the sea, originating from the nearby small pond of Punta Nera. In the proximity of the beach was found a sepulchral cave dating back to the Bronze age. The scenery is characterized by the contrast between the green of the Mediterranean maquis, the light blue of the sea and the dark grey of the cliffs on the side.
Car park, kiosk.
