If you are leaving from Baunei take the SS 125 south towards Lotzorai and Tortolì. More or less 6,5 km from Baunei on the left there’s the turn-off for Santa Maria Navarrese where you will arrive after travelling c.3,5 km. If you are leaving from Lotzorai take the SS 125 towards Baunei. After more or less a km leaving the town on the right there’s the turn-off for Santa Maria Navarrese where you will arrive after travelling c. 3 km. In Santa Maria Navarrese drive towards the port. The beach is further south than the port.
Description
This long beach is frequented by the inhabitants of the town a lot and is characterized by light small pebbles mixed with coarse sand. The sea is limpid, the sea-bottom is sandy and the water is shallow, perfect for families with children. It is encircled by a thick pine forest and delimitated south by a cliff and north by a small touristic port, from which ferry boats leave for the many heavenly beaches of the coast. From the beach you can admire the famous Ogliastra Islet with its pointed shape and characteristic red colour in the heart of the Arbatax Gulf.
