Description
Maria Pia is a long beach characterized by fine white sand. The water has hues that range from emerald green to azure. The water is shallow and the sea bottom is sandy, and is perfect for families with children. It stretches north from the Lido di San Giovanni and continues west to the small port of Fertilia. The landscape is characterized by a dunal white sand system which separates the blooming pine forest of Maria Pia from the beach behind it. Nearby, there’s the Calich marsh, typical of damp areas, from which you can admire the remains of an ancient Roman bridge.
