The most evocative beaches. Before the boom of tourism, before – even – the inspector general for penal institutions landed here in 1875 and before the marshland was cleared, they were there already, showing off under the sun:
the beaches of Castiadas, so paradisiacal as to be mentioned in the most authoritative guides and, not coincidentally, to be chosen as the most romantic locations to celebrate a wedding (also thanks to the presence of excellent beach establishments).
The first to be mentioned is Cala Pira, an indenture with sand of an almost pink hue and transparent sea beds over which the homonymous watchtower rises, followed by the more widely known Cala Sinzias which has received praise from environmental organizations for its clear water.

Slightly more towards the North you can find Monte Turno, with its luxuriant hillsides, which shields the cove of Cala Sant’Elmo against the wind, and a whole series of sandy indentures and rocky slopes, at times also steep, reaching towards the sea.

And in conclusion we shouldn’t forget Santa Giusta, with its clear sand and intensely turquoise water, perfectly divided by the famous rocks of Scoglio di Peppino, an exceptionally picturesque formation which marks the border between Castiadas and Muravera.

Cala Monte Turno in Castiadas is the 2018 Italian most beautiful beach for Skyscanner!
