There are places in the North-East of Sardinia where nature offers to the visitors a marvelous show of its power and beauty. In a vast promontory of 112 meters, close to the sea, there is the Rock of the Bear, a natural monument which dominates the whole emerald bay, in the territory of Palau.

The Rock of the Bear, which follows the curves of the body of this animal, is a granite rock grazed by the wind and by the saltiness. This is a mighty, great and stately stone illuminated by a luxuriant Mediterranean scrub full of colors.
According to the legend it was here that Homer’s episode of the landing of Ulysses in the earth of the Laestrygonians took place.
From the top of this uncontaminated promontory is it possible to watch a beautiful landscape of the Maddalena’s Archipelago.
