Description
This beach is set in front of the town that bears the same name. It is made up of fine golden sand and scattered rocks. The sea is crystalline of an emerald green colour, and the sea-bottom is made up of sand and rocks. The beach is bordered on the western side by the well-known promontory called ‘La Balena’ (the Whale), topped by a Spanish tower bearing the same name of the town. The promontory owes its name to its shape resembling a whale. At its foot there is cave, partially submerged, that extends into the promontory and forms a natural well in the open. When the mistral wind blows strongly the water goes up the well forming a vertical water spout, similar to that coming out of whales’ blowholes.
Car park, kiosk, restaurant.
