Description
This wide beach is characterized by coarse sand with different hues and rocks, the sea is limpid, the sea-bottom is sandy mixed with rocks, very well loved by snorkelling and diving enthusiasts. It is well served and crowded during high season, perfect for families with children. It stretches out from Riu Mannu’ s (Mannu Stream) mouth, north, to south to the promontory on which Torre di Bari from the 1600s rises. The name comes from the word “abbari” that means swamps, in the past they used to occupy the whole surrounding area. Behind the beach a lush pine forest separates it from the lake-like areas and the cultivated fields rests.
